Wednesday Blend: Lucite and Metal

It’s no secret to most in the design world that Lucite has been trending for some time now. It was quite popular in the 1960’s and 70’s, and has had resurgence and shown up in many forms throughout the 2000’s. Today we are spotlighting one of our personal team favorites, the grouping of Lucite with different metals.

The airy, soft feel of Lucite creates the perfect contrast with industrial, rugged metal. These include bronze, copper, silver, and gold. The metal can be an accent, like the corners of this coffee table, or it can play a more central role.

These acrylic and bronze barstools would make a great addition to a boutique hotel lounge area. Notice that the cream leather cushions soften the look and add comfort, an imperative factor when specifying furniture.

The third and final combination we will discuss is this copper & acrylic design that our team put together. The richness of the copper table goes well with the floating chairs. Each end has an armchair, and to create more room the side chairs are armless To kick the industrial style up a notch, consider adding a light fixture, such as this one with an assortment of hanging bulbs.
